Hello, October!

October marks the start of our new series. For the month of October, Magenta will be running a ‘no-spend’ challenge. This month we will be focussing our attention to those every-day expenditures that soon add up. At Magenta we are always looking for ways to help our clients and their friends and family.

This October we are running a special series that aims to identify how, in reducing those daily-spending habits, we could all potentially save enough money to help us reach our financial and life goals. Over October we’re going to be issuing a range of materials on how people can save and free up some cash, with this challenge taking centre stage. If you’re a valued Magenta client then we know you’re already pioneers of the pennies. Why not get friends and family members to take on the challenge and see if you can help them on the pathway to better spending and saving habits?

the challenge textWe want you to track your daily spending. We’re not talking rent or mortgage payments, utility bills and the like- just those little spillages. A magazine here, a coffee there, random bits of tat from eBay (you know the type; the earrings that turn your ears green; the mandolin that did a better job of slicing your finger rather than the cabbage; a spiralizer…?!?)–all the ‘bits and bobs’ that soon add up over time.

We’ve included a template for you to fill in. You can either print this off or fill it in on the computer. Download it here—> DailySpendingDiary  (Thanks to SkintDad for the template ideas!)

why textWhen we talk to people about investment there can often be a sense that it’s something only available to people with stacks of spare cash. We want to prove that we all have the potential to save. Be that towards a specific goal, our futures, forward planning for increasing later life care needs or for our children’s futures. We hope this challenge lets you see that we are all a little more cash-rich than we may initially realise and how, with a bit of careful planning, we can all achieve our financial and life goals.

let's go textWe’d love it if you took part. If you do then please share your efforts across social media and tag us in your posts. The more people who participate, the better we can help spread the message that we all have the ability to take control of our finances and turn our life goals and dreams, no matter how big or small, into a real and enjoyable reality.
