Magenta will continue to plan with passion into 2023

It’s nearing the end of 2022 and it’s always the time we start to look towards new goals and opportunities for the business.

We all know that 2023 is forecast to be a tough year, a long recession is predicted, and inflation isn’t yet under control.

For those working, but under 35, this will be the first time experiencing this type of downward cycle when their pockets are really feeling the pinch – but we know, from talking to many of our clients and colleagues with more experience, that the UK has experienced this before and has survived and thrived.

So, what have we got planned for 2023?

Focus on client education

We know from a survey we undertook a few months back that there are a few topics that a lot of our clients would like to hear more about.

We’ll be creating a schedule of webinars – probably 3 next year which will likely cover:

 1. Inheritance Tax

 2. The power of cashflow forecasting (and budgeting)

 3. Market update (later in the year)

These will be free to attend and recorded too, to be able to watch back, should you miss them.

Aiming to help more women gain control of their finances and make educated decisions

Whilst we work with a broad mix of clients and many couples (and will continue to do so) we get a lot of women coming to us for advice and we get some great satisfaction by helping these clients.

Only 35% of women seek financial advice, so we know that the need for financial advice is vital.

We’ll be driving the business to help more women who find themselves in a life ‘transition’ – which could be positive (like a job change) or negative (like bereavement) and we’re 100% committed to being a leader in our profession, in this field.

Foster a great working environment for staff, with high levels of technical competency

We’re nothing without a happy team and I know many of you speak to Mandy, Jamie, Izzy, Carly and Jess more than me sometimes! Behind the scenes we also have Allyson, the driving force of keeping the team and office running smoothly, and without her and the team, certainly the service Jamie and I as advisers can provide to you, wouldn’t be as efficient!

We’re keen to encourage high standards of technical expertise and over the next year we’ll be continuing to develop and enhance our skills.

Fostering a great business culture is important and our company values mean a lot to us.

We revisited these in 2022 and tweaked them with the input of all the team. We have 5 company values:

Passion – We are passionate about helping people to pursue their own passions. Whether inspirational or ordinary, what is most important to our clients and staff is also most important to us.

People – People are at the heart of everything that we do. We value our clients and the lives they want to live. We value our team members, their work life balance, and the positive contribution they make to our business and the success of our clients.

Creativity – We believe that being creative isn’t just being able to paint, draw or make things. It means solving a problem in a new way.

Being creative means being brave, bold, and facing fears. Often it means considering multiple options to enable you to reach one destination. Being creative means searching for inspiration, constantly evolving, and reconsidering your perspective.

Compassion – We will always be approachable and friendly, offering understanding and empathy. Finding solutions and going above and beyond where possible.

Our clients are more than clients to us, we count them as our friends. We care what happens in their lives.

Wisdom – Exams demonstrate knowledge but not experience. We are lucky enough to have a wealth of both in our business and we are not afraid to share this wisdom with clients and colleagues to ensure we do “the right thing” every time.

Wise people generally share an optimism that life’s problems can be solved and experience a certain amount of calm in facing difficult decisions.

We are confident if we do the right thing for clients and our team, we will thrive in 2023!
