This week students across the country will be returning to their studies – my youngest daughter is now in her GCSE year. She will be immersing herself in her chosen subjects – 3 sciences, geography, RE, business, music, English and maths and like all parents we are hopeful of some good results.

But sadly, nowhere on the curriculum is Financial Planning – to my amazement and frustration, schools still don’t offer a good education in one of the most important areas of our lives.

Consequently, many adults still feel uncertain of how best to organise their finances to achieve their life goals and are often scared to seek proper advice because they don’t know what questions to ask.

I have been part of many initiatives to improve this situation, but without full time support, schools often run out of momentum and good intentions get sidelined.

Our Millennial Toolkit will help to point people in the right direction but we are always happy to have a friendly chat to anyone feeling vulnerable or uncertain about their financial future.
